This project was essentially a brand new website. The church had a minimally functioning website but they wanted to really embrace the web and develop a website that would be interactive, easily updatable, and friendly to use by anyone. The church had a very active and engaged website committee that I met with regularly to work through content, navigation, and to help educate them in the ways of today’s content management systems (CMS).
We used WordPress with a purchased theme design that we modified as needed. We also used Google Calendar to manage their busy schedule of activities which is now automatically synchronized with the office manager’s Outlook Calendar. Since their old site was hosted by a provider that just hosted their own tools, we needed to find a hosting service that would accommodate a WordPress on Linux server setup. We chose InMotion Hosting which is a company I have used for many years and have found very reliable. They also have fantastic support.
