Design Process Steps
Every website is different but, in general, these steps will help you understand what to expect of us and what we will expect of you during the website development process.
- Initial Conversation - This is usually a brief conversation via telephone where we discuss your general needs for a website. During this conversation we may provide a preliminary project estimate which would give you an idea about the overall cost for your website. This estimate would be further refined in the Website Design Meeting in step 2.
- Website Design Meeting - Once you've selected us as your website developer, we will meet with you, via telephone or in person, to obtain more detailed information about your business' website needs. This information will be used to refine the project estimate and develop the project schedule.
- Customer Intake Form - In order to start development of your website, we will need you to complete a brief intake form with your contact, credit card and billing information. It is at this time that you will be required to provide 1/2 the estimated cost of the project in order for us to begin working on your website.
- Website Development Schedule - Based on the Website Design Meeting (step #2), we may prepare a website development schedule that describes what will be required of you throughout the process in order for us to keep to the agreed upon schedule. Often the most daunting task for you will be to prepare the website's content. If this is your first website, you should be prepared to spend a good amount of time on this activity. We will work closely with you to develop the content so that it can be the most effective for search engine
optimization.
- Website Implementation - Once testing is completed and you are satisfied with the website we will determine with you when the best time would be to make the website available to the world. Final payment is is due at this time. Once payment is received, the website will be made available to the world wide web and the fun begins!
